Candy Cane Wreath

I made this wreath last year and thought I would share it! It was very easy to make, all you do is glue mini candy canes onto the wreath form and add some Christmas balls and a bow, simple enough!

DIY Curtains Tie Backs

We finally just finished the trim around our patio doors in our kitchen/dining room (after having installed the doors over a year ago). To show it off a little better we decided to tie back the curtains. Living in a small town that has nothing as far as decor stores I thought I better get creative and come up with something.

Through out the years I have kept the bottom piece of our Christmas tress, always having the intention to do something with them. So after searching around for something to use I decided to use them to make the curtain ties and I love the way they turned out.

Grey Cup Party!

On Sunday we had a few people over the watch the Grey Cup, as our beloved Roughriders were playing again this year. Although we didn't pull off a win, we sure enjoyed some great food. We had a full spread, complete with rider inspired food labels.

Monkey Birthday Invitations

As I mentioned in my last post Daxon will be turning one on December 15th and we have decided on a monkey theme. I thought I would share with you the first step for his party, the invitations. I made them using Scrapblog Builder, which was free and then I printed them off at Wal-mart! I'm so happy with the way they turned out!

11 Months!

Yes, our little monkey turned 11 months old on Monday and I will say it again, "Where has the time gone? " So what's new you ask? Daxon has taken his first steps, but is still not walking, we try to get him to by holding a toy just a little out of reach, but most times he will just drop to the ground and crawl the tiny distance. He's still exploring everything and putting anything he can find into his mouth, the other day he even nibbled on some dog food!

We have started to plan his first birthday party and have picked a monkey theme (of course!). It's just going to be a small party, with close family and friends. I picked up a monkey cake pan while at hobby lobby and I'm planning on making his cake. I will say it again, "where has the time gone?"

Family Pictures

Last month we went and got our first professional family pictures done. Daxon had won a gift certificate when he won the little sweetheart photo contest in June so we used it for a family picture. The gift certificate included a free photo sitting and a framed picture or two sheets of photos and we choose the framed photo. I haven't gotten around to ordering any sheets yet, so I just took a photo of the photo to show everyone. With that being said they aren't very good quality but I thought I would put them up for everyone to see.

Get Well Soon

While staying with my parents last week, Derek's mom called me up and asked if I would have time to put a basket together for a friend of hers that was in the hospital, this is what I ended up with!

Am I Seeing Double?

On Wednesday Daxon and I went to stay with my parents for a few days. This picture was taken right before Daxon went to bed when my brother discovered that Daxon and him had matching Pj's and boots!

Halloween Fun!

Here is Daxon on his first Halloween, he was a Monkey! Since Daxon is still to young to go trick or treating, we decided to head to the city, so we could take him around to our parents and friends!
