The NEW counter tops! YAY!!!!

As mentioned in a previous post Derek, my Dad and I spent last weekend (and Monday) installing new counter tops in our kitchen and here is the final product! This was one task that was weighing heavily on our minds, as we had to start from scratch and make all new counter tops (in our last house we just put it over the old tops and it was much smaller) and we knew we couldn't do it alone. So when my Dad offered to help, it was a big relief. Most of the things we have to finish now, in order to sell are house are smaller projects and we are hoping by the end of the month to have her ready to sell (fingers crossed).

We had purchased a new hood range for the stove but, realized our house was much more high tech then we thought and had a fan already built in so Derek's dad offered to paint the old one and it turned out great (and saved a little cash).

Definitely a much bigger job then I had anticipated. Thanks to my Dad who spent 3 of his 6 days off helping us. I will post some finale pictures a little later.

One Thing Down, A Few More To Go

Tiling this area took us longer then expected, 8 hours to be exact!

But, I must say we did a fine job!

Busy, Busy, Busy

So after 2 and a half years of small town living, we have decided that it's not for us (I think we came to this realization within the first year) and are going to move (if all goes as planned) back to the city. When we purchased our house it needed a LOT of work, but thought we were up to the challenge, almost three years later we have realized this is not the case and are still doing major renos. We are do it yourselfers and have ran into a few road blocks on our journey to our home sweet home. So with lots of things still on our to do list, this is what our house has gone through/ going through in the last month to get it ready to sell.

This is our laundry area and main floor bath, tile is going in today and then paint, I can see the light!
